The Literacy Council of Montgomery County, Maryland is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to helping adults in Montgomery County learn to speak, read, write and understand English. We train volunteers to tutor one-on-one or with small groups of students. Each year, the Literacy Council provides free tutoring to approximately 800 - 1,000 adults in Montgomery County.
CRITICAL NEED FOR VOLUNTEER TUTORS
We have a waiting list of approximately 300 students and they need your help. Our students are busy adults who need help learning to read, write and speak English. Our tutors are busy adults, too so they enjoy the fact that they can tutor either close to home or work at their local library, at hours that are convenient to them
For more information please call: 301-610-0030 Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
