Reading Partners was created by Women's Philanthropy in 2005, to train and send volunteers to kindergarten through third grade classrooms in Orange County public schools, to help increase the children's English literacy. Both men and women may register to be Reading Partners.
Your time as a Reading Partners volunteer will be spent improving the literacy of the students with whom you work. Reading Partners assist in all aspects of literacy, including comprehension, reviewing sight words, learning the alphabet and much more. The only qualification you need is a passion to help. No previous teaching experience is necessary. By giving just one hour of your time each week, you will be making a great impact in the lives of many children in our community.
To become a Reading Partners volunteer, contact Nicole Laderberg, Reading Partners Coordinator at 949-435-3484 or email Nicole@jfoc.org. And remember, all it takes is one hour a week, to do a world of good!
