Family Literacy
The Family Literacy Program is comprised of two libraries/community centers for all residents of Kuhio Park Terrace and Mayor Wright Housing. In addition to checking out books (which have all been donated), patrons can participate in weekly story hour, literacy activities, and receive help with homework or writing letters for business matters. Community volunteer groups offer Saturday story hour events, too. Volunteer
Would you like to help improve the literacy skills of children? Hawaii Literacy is looking for volunteers to help with our Family Literacy program. Volunteers are needed to help run educational activities for children, parents and/or caregivers at Mayor Wright Homes and Kuhio Park Terrace. This may include reading books aloud, helping with an art or writing activity, or assisting people in choosing and checking out books. A criminal background check is required.
