for volunteer coordinator to institute Delta Pet Partners' R.E.A.D.
program for Orlando affiliate. This program involves the use of
therapy dogs (trained w/food between book pages!) who "need"
children to read to them...Non-judgemental, reading assistance
dogs are currently making great strides for literacy in other

AmeriCorps
Polk Reads is a grant funded reading tutoring program in Polk
County, Florida. AmeriCorps members and volunteers tutor students
in Kindergarten through Third grade in Reading, incorporating
read-alouds, story-based activities and other methods to enhance
the students skills and reading strategies.
